History
The record for the smallest craft to cross the atlantic was originally set in 1968 by Hugo Vihlen, in a boat 5′ 11″ long named ”April Fool”.
In early 1993 Tom McNally took the world record for the smallest craft to cross the Atlantic, in a boat 5 feet 4 1/2 inches long.
Hugo Vihlen, subsequently recrossed the atlantic on the 26th of September 1993, in a boat named “Father’s Day” which was half an inch smaller, and regained the record.
Tom is now attempting to regain the world record by a definitive two-way Atlantic crossing from Europe to the US and back to the UK, aboard “Big C”, a boat only 3′ 10″ long!
This blog is about the progress of the record attempt.
